Services

I've been in the creative field for over 20 years. In that time I've had the opportunity to participate in nearly every facet of the creative process. As a freelancer I'm often called upon to provide everything from the starting concept through to final production. I maintain my own office, equipment and can manage multiple projects, timelines and budgets simultaneously. And, I have a vast network of some of the best in the business when I need extra hands.

Graphic Design

I can provide graphic design for both print and web and carry over an existing style or offer new options. My early design work came out of my character development work. Once I developed a character, I was often asked to design the packaging around it. As a result, much of my early work was packaging for the "Kids Market". Since then I've been able to round out my portfolio with cleaner more corporate messaging, but i still love doing the kid stuff.

Illustration

While I'm definitely a cartoonist at heart, I can break out the serious illustrator when I need to. I can recreate virtually any style you need or give a few options of my own. In recent years I've been doing a lot of photo illustrations for promotional concepts, event & trade show visuals and product development.

Creative Direction

Over my career, I've developed a reputation for providing creative ideas and developing strategy behind them. I 'm an affable guy who's adept at building client relationships and team bonds. I thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage day-to-day work efficiently and really enjoy working with a team to bring out their best.

Concepting

I'm an idea man. There are few things Ii enjoy more than building a promotion from the ground up. From developing the look and feel through comps and visuals to the implementation of interactive and integrated elements. I just dig it.

Production

While most freelancers try to stay on one side or the other with regard to print production, I've managed to develop my "left brain" enough to manage my own production duties. Something that's proven essential in keeping projects on track and on budget. However, I have relationships with top notch production folks when a project calls for an expert.

Custom Premiums

I got started in the business designing custom premiums for cereal companies and kids meals. It was the coolest job I think I'll ever have. I worked with some great licensed properties and developed new ways to make old ideas fun again. It also gave me the occasional opportunity to build a prototype or do some sculpting. If I could figure out how to make a living as a sculptor, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
